Broken coal was a production company created by our director and her brother, its a company which has been used before by our director.The reason in which we decided used this production as our director Emma had previously filmed some video under this banner a couple very dark one including one which involved a kidnapping of a child similar to our production. Also this adds to the fact that our film is a thriller as this production company relates to this.
The other production company which we used was DreamWorks, the key reason which we used this was due the fact that one of the films which was very similar to our trailer was I Am Number Four. This was a movie with similar traits of our trailer such as the teenager who possessed super natural power as his was the ability to shoot lights and weapons from himself however our main character has tele kinises power. SO they main reason which we chose DreamWorks was due to the fact it was played a part in creating a film which fits the description of our creation. So this overall supports the thriller element in which we want our trailer to be associated with. Normally DreamWorks is not familiarized with dark thrillers as it most famously linked with its production of the Shrek franchise, however all production companies make acceptions to certain films, this is the case with our trailer.
